Loop Hero also takes inspiration from clicker games, meaning that players only really have control over placing buildings and patches of land on the field. As is the case with most roguelikes, players gain power as they finish runs, both through learning how the mechanics interact with each other and by unlocking new items that keep the variety high. Loop Hero is all about building and rebuilding a fantasy kingdom that's destined to reset over and over. Later this year, the game ventures onto consoles for the first time with a Nintendo Switch release that lets players bring the game's recursive loops on the go. Developed by Russian team Four Quarters, Loop Hero took the PC gaming world by storm early in 2021 thanks to its novel combination of RPG sensibilities and roguelike elements. Switch owners who missed out on Loop Hero earlier this year are in luck, as Nintendo announced a release date for the Devlover Digital-published indie during the Indie World stream earlier today.
